No one is forcing us to buy slots, they will just be available to buy.
A.net needs to make a profit at the end of the day, I think its a smart move opening the store before the event.

I wonder.. a warrior in fissure armor in the top gvg battles... must be someone who plays pve and unless they have a pvp slot, they shouldn't be given the ability to test the new professions, cause they play pve not pvp?
Not that I don't think these people have a dedicated pvp slot, they most likely do.
I think a lot of us expected the ability to have a temporary account. There is the odd chance that I would have been patient and not created a pve character on slot 6 if I had realised that the only way to participate in the preview weekends was to have that slot.
We've already seen that the store isn't up and running yet, and won't be in time for the weekend, or if, then won't be accessible by the weekend for those living outside the US/Canada area due to paypal being.. well.. paypal.
Oh well, it'll give me a chance to continue building my ele up to pvp standards during the weekend.

Yeah, it's like picking up a man in the desert who is obviously parched, offering him a glass of water for 10 bucks and saying "No one is forcing you to buy this glass of water, it's just available to buy."
You see, I'm trying to stick to the Nightfall North African desert theme here.

Now that is a silly example.
Why would you charge someone £10 for a glass of water when most likely they won't have £10 on them being in the middle of nowhere and all.
A.net is giving us the option to buy a slot, or as suggestion just delete on of our exisiting characters to allow us to make new classes during the event.
Using your example, if the man was offered the glass of water for 10 bucks, then he has the option to say no, and delete the part of the desert he's on and create a body of water in its place.
Like your example, it makes no sense.

If someone tried to sell me a glass of water in a desert for 10 bucks, i'd KO the seller and drink it without paying But back to the subject. It is a "coincidence" that Anet opened the store at this particular time, but a smart coincidence. They'l be counting there notes this time next week, I bet

And yet people see this as a bad thing.
A.net is a company out of make profit, good on them for doing things like this to generate profit. I'd love to be the shoes of whoever came up with this planning

Promotion ftw I bet GW hits WoW off the charts with this stunt, but it's what the store will sell ontop of character slots, thats what i'm worried about.

And this has nothing to do with selling slot, really. It's your own fault not having free slot. Don't go blaming on others.

We got a free temporary account when there was Factions preview. People assumed (because anet give facts too late) that it will be same with Nightfall. Don't write that kind of crap if its only purpose is to annoy some people.

at the same time they were giving out friends guest accounts as well to help advertise GW.
guess what?
peope know about it now and there is no need for the extra temp accounts.
GUESS WHAT AS WELL FOLKS..............YOU CAN PLAY YOUR FAVORITE PVE CHARACTERS AGAINST THE NEW PROFESSIONS IF YOU HAVE NO FREE SLOT (S) TO TRY THEM.
BE THE FIRST TO TAKE DOWN THAT DERVISH ETC.
you dont have to be left out unless you want to

I'm surprised they aren't doing the throwaway accounts again. Someone gave me theirs for FPE, I got hooked and played it all weekend, then went and bought GW the following Monday :/
